Yes, indeed! I second that opinion. Really neat to see your self-steering setup in action. Les Clute ============================================================ From: "Robert L. Could someone please explain how the self steering system is rigged and how it works? Bob, Here's a little bit about my experiences w/ it: http://www.todspages.net/SSa-SelfSteering.html If you hunt around the web, other people have pages about it too, some a lot more extensive than mine. Here's another clip, this one on a reach down the Chesapeake towards the Potomac. It was a much more placid sail. You will notice the genoa isn't quite trimmed perfectly. With this setup, when the sheets are eased the genoa sheet comes close to the boom. Need to experiment some more: http://www.todspages.net/images/ReachingToThePotomac.WMV Tod M17 #408 BuscaBrisas -----Original Message----- From: montgomery_boats-bounces+htmills=bright.net@mailman.xmission.com [mailto:montgomery_boats-bounces+htmills=bright.net@mailman.xmission.com ] On Behalf Of Robert L. Thanks Tod: The posting is very instructive and will give me much to ponder for a few days. Also, the Chesapeake reach clip helps me to begin to understand the dynamics of the system. Did your pooch adapt well to sailing? He/she looks pretty salty and apparently in command. Cheers, bob s. -----Original Message----- From: montgomery_boats-bounces+bobsmith=ag.arizona.edu@mailman.xmission.com [mailto:montgomery_boats-bounces+bobsmith=ag.arizona.edu@mailman.xmission.co m] On Behalf Of htmills@bright.net Sent: Saturday, March 25, 2006 4:17 PM To: 'For and about Montgomery Sailboats' Subject: M_Boats: RE: sheet to tiller, and another clip Bob, Here's a little bit about my experiences w/ it: http://www.todspages.net/SSa-SelfSteering.html If you hunt around the web, other people have pages about it too, some a lot more extensive than mine.
