Gilbert, Check the MSPG site _http://www.msogphotosite.com/lbgftransom.html_ (http://www.msogphotosite.com/lbgftransom.html) for a section on transom repair - I did this before I thought it was a 'photo documentation' so the pictures are incomplete - but enough there to give you the idea. The motor the PO had on the boat was an 8hp Evinrude 25" Yachtwin - approx 70# ,and the boat was towed over hill and dale with the motor attached in the TILTED position! Another reason for towing with the engine off the transom - the motor will not be bounced off the boat, be stolen from back of the boat, or tear up the transom if it gets loose on clamps etc. I cruise with the motor on the transom on a fixed mount and race with it located where the porta-potti hatch is on v-berth. FWIW - how another guy does it. Good Luck, GO M-17 #316a "Air Powered" 'that ain't bad gelcoat -it's "patina"! Team Geezer Racing.....Old and in the Way
