I'm not happy with the first two trailers either. I spoke with the manufacturer about a number of improvements. Some of them like ground clearance are important. I think there is room for improvement on current trailers. The "moving parts" mentioned might offer some solutions. I appreciate the comments. sal In a message dated 12/5/2010 4:04:58 P.M. Neal Clark of Tucson made a trailer this way and that's where I got the idear. I believe Neal's worked fine. 'm unhappy with the trailers that Sal got for the first two Sage's, including mine, because they sat too high on the trailer, so I plan to do some work on mine. jerry ----- Original Message ----- From: <GILASAILR@aol.com> To: <montgomery_boats@mailman.xmission.com> Sent: Thursday, December 02, 2010 4:50 PM Subject: Re: M_Boats: Need some "Sage" advice
Jerry, I believe the issue is clearance with the trailer axle. Most of the trailers I have seen 17's riding on have the axle located below the board - we could ask for a 'swing-away axle' with integral air jacks (race car style) to lift the rig straight up for the service of the board uphaul - yeah that's the ticket ! Executed in some fancy unobtanium. I will pay at least $79.00 dollars for that option. (sarcasm intended to be humorous).(did it work?)
That is my opinion - and it is right!
