This boat will be FAST.Something like this:http://www.msogphotosite.com/motuiti.html Really, it's the same M_17 trailer with a slightly taller bunk...with the extension (which is standard on the Trailer)she will slide in and recover without much problem. I will have Bill post some photos of her. She is FOR SALE....(hint, hint) and is sure to be fantastic looking, weatherly and fast. I may up the ballast a bit....still thinking about that, comments welcome. Email me on the backside or call for details. Also have another M_15 ready. A stock M_15, no waiting. Any leads on where I can find a main sail cover for a new M-17??? Joe
Hi, Joe: I bought a new mainsail cover and a headsail bag from Lee Sail Covers this spring, and I'm very happy with them. Here's a link: http://leesailcovers.com/_wsn/page2.html Gordon M-17 "Sapphire" Milwaukee On Sep 12, 2008, at 2:59 PM, Joe Murphy wrote:

Hi Joe, I have a stock model from West Marine that I ordered when they were on sale last winter. It works very well and is holding up nicely. Covers the sail on the boom and the section of the sail held just above the mast slot. It sure is nice to leave all that in place. Robbin Joe Murphy wrote:

It would be interesting to see how one of your newer deep keel boats stacks up against my fin keel M17 (#14) with the cast iron fin with bulb. I know that when my brother owned the boat we would walk away from the keel/CB montgomerys to windward. "Griselda" also appears to heel less than her shallow draft counterparts. Being one of the first M17s, Griselda is as Lyle Hess designed her. Ron M17 #14, (fin keel) Griselda.

Hi Joe, At the bottom of the page is your answer on the cover: "The two left photos are of the cover Dorothy made from Sunbrella fabric with her Sailrite LZ sewing machine. Because there was no pattern available to the general public an area would be measured, tacked, fitted and then finish sewn. Note also the rudder cover. Looks like Dorothy is staying busy. Dorothy has compliments for Sailrite. A problem developed during the fabrication and a call to Sailrite was all that was needed, The Representative at Sailrite walked Dorothy through the procedure and the outcome is great." Dorothy made the cover! How great is that! Bill
