Hi Scott, When we sailed in those waters - '68-'73, you were all alone out there. The Germans found the area, being just on the other side of the Alps, and today, there are marinas, and charter boats available. However, as soon as you get past the next island, it probably is pretty much as we knew it. Small islands; tiny towns on the islands; water for the town from cisterns catching water from the church roofs - the highest point on the island. We used to watch women climbing stairs to the church and then coming back to their houses balancing 5 gallon tins of water on their heads. That was the only water in the house. I didn't think to inquire about toilets - out houses? But still, a beautiful serene cruising area with good food, good wines, and beautiful vocal music. Dream on. Connie
