There are a few particular annual cruise events in the Northwest that would be perfect for Montgomery and Sage owners. The first is the upcoming May 26-28 Montague Harbour Small Boat Rendezvous on Galiano Island, in the British Columbia Gulf Islands. A lot of us from the Port Townsend area sail through the San Juan Islands from here, or from launch ramps near Bellingham, arriving at Montague by Friday the 26th. Some of us will continue cruising afterwards…but Montague is for all kinds of smaller boats, so it's specifically not a wooden-boat gathering. For details, email me (Monty 15 owner) at Norseboater22@gmail.com or check the 2017 calendar of events on the Port Townsend Pocket Yachters website, www.pocketyachters.com Another terrific event that combines wood and fiberglass boats is the annual Port Townsend Pocket Yacht Palooza, Saturday, July 22 at the Northwest Maritime Center in Port Townsend. (Dave Scobie will be there, as always, with one of the Sage boats.) After the show, which typically draws about 75 interesting smaller boats, we offer the three-day Palooza Crooza (July 23-25), in which about 30 or the 75 Palooza boats enjoy a group cruise in local-area waters. This year we'll overnight in Mats Mats Bay south of Port Townsend, and also Mystery Bay, Marrowstone Island. I'm the organizer of both events, so if you have questions you can email me at Norseboater22@gmail.com or check the Pocket Yachters website for details and lots of photos of past events-- www.pocketyachters.com - Marty Loken, Nordland, WA (M-15 and too many other boats)
