RE: M_Boats: M17 through a 7ft. opening
I solved this very problem Larry. I think the building I now refer to as the boat shed has a standard opening. To get the M17 in I simply lowered the tongue of the trailer to the ground and slid the whole works backwards into the building. Admitedly it was close--the pulpit cleared by a couple of inches. I was prepared to let air out of the tires, but that tactic didn't turn out to be necessary... t Tom Smith & Jane Van Winkle Sandpoint, Idaho M15-345, Chukar M17-064, Unnamed -----Original Message----- From: Larry Yake [mailto:leyake@juno.com] Sent: Saturday, December 13, 2003 5:03 PM To: montgomery_boats@mailman.xmission.com Subject: Re: M_Boats: M17 line drawings Gary, I don't know if all M17's are the same, but my '76 has a 21'4" mast, 21'10" with fittings and masthead light. If your garage door is a standard 7', it won't fit in unless you remove the bow pulpit and tabernacle. Larry On Sat, 13 Dec 2003 13:41:51 -0800 Gary M. Hyde <gmhyde1@mac.com> writes:
Wayne: I'm interested in those M17 line drawings. I need to know how high the boat is on the trailer to know if it will fit through my garage door
and how long the mast is. Thanks. --Gary Hyde M15 #235 'Vanilla' N24 'Sailabration'

That's excellent to know, Tom . . . And they say the M15 has an advantage over the M17 because it can fit in a garage . . .
