When I went boat shopping for my Tartan 26, one thing became obvious real early on: freshwater boats' spars, winches, cleats, etc have a FAR EASIER life than salt water boats'. Tod

Tod Right! An incredible difference. Salt water causes severe corrosion on just about everything, in a very short time.. Fresh water is harmless. For larger type boats, try and get a fresh water boat. Fair winds Bob htmills@bright.net wrote:
