Hi all,  $3,000 for an M17 is almost too good to pass up, even for me and I live on the East coast  Has no one in the area laid eyes on it yet? I'm almost crazy enough to jump in my van and haul ass out there on the chance that it is in good enough condition to buy it. Two things make me hesitate. One; possible serious repairs needed like deck rot and centerboard trunk, rusted ballast etc. Two; I think it's the 4 berth layout, would that be correct, a 1980 ? Bottom line is I don't really want a fixer upper, I want to sail and I'm willing to pay extra for that luxury. I guess I'm just tortured by the thought that this M17 might be the proverbial diamond in the rough. What happened to progress?
