The latest issue of "Good Old Boat" features two reader's photos on page 82. The Lyle Hess-designed catboat, "Doodle" . . . She's gorgeous, of course. Lyle himself is in the second pic. Wonder if Doodle will be at the "Hess Fest" . . . I'll think I'll have to embezzle some money and quit work so I can attend the Hess soiree . . .
Craig Doodle (Jeanie) died several years before Lyle passed away. (maybe 12 years before) She was a fabulous women and after her stroke was confined to a wheel chair. We used to hoist her into my Van when I picked both of them up for a day visit to the factory back in the early 1990s. She would sit in the wheel chair while Lyle pushed her around the shop.
