Re: M_Boats: shallow-draft sailing dinghy
The WB8 rudder does kick up. It is held to three possible positions by simple friction detents. If memory serves, it could be steered with the rudder ho rizontal, just a few inches below the surface. Of course in this position weather helm affected steering much more strongly. Also, if it is like most sailing dinghy's, the centerboard can be used partly out, but the rudder has to go in deep and it needs more water. The Walker Bay says it has a kick up rudder. Does anyone know if that is like the rudder on the M15? Does anyone know how to turn a rudder into a kickup rudder? Bobbie
