Dave: On both starboard and port sides of Really's hull near the stern, it says Montgomery Costa Mesa, California. If your boat says made in China you might want to e-mail Jerry again. Actually Really doesn't mind having a twin, even if they didn't come from the same mold. They each have a blue stripe! and that's a good thing. Rich Cottrell
rich: same tag on my M15 as on your 'really'. it would be interesting to know if they came off the line one after each other and evaluate the slight (if any) differences in their construction. above the waterline all on-deck and most of the mast sail handling hardware were replaced prior to the last owner from what i can gather (still have all the old stuff, harken is on-board now): *the jib sheet tracks are on the cabin top including double jam cleats (2 for sheets, 2 for halyards) so i don't have the jam cleat on the cockpit molding). *she was set up to run a spinnaker at some point (don't have the sail, but do have the pole); the spinnaker hardware on-deck was removed (sheet tracks were on the toerail were removed and expertly patched over (very good woodworking by whomever did the job); double halyard mast bracket (for the spinnaker pole, removed but i still have it); and the eye-track remains on the mast (i have the 'eye cart'). *harken main sheet block replaces the original. *the mast and boom show a variety of added, removed and changed rivet/screw holes from over the years (something i look at and say, "i hope nothin' breaks."). the mast isn't 'swiss cheese, but each hole makes one think. boats have a story to tell. i've been able to track her to living in reno, NV, with scott r. imus in 2000. she has had at least two names - pato and dancer. before 2000 her travels remain hidden in the 'fog of history.' i'm playing with the sails now for pre-season maintenance (looking into adding a second reef point on the main; and there is the issue of getting a second headsail ...). also need to take the motor in for a check-up. there always is a project with a boat. dave Richard Cottrell <rc2222@pacbell.net> wrote: Dave: On both starboard and port sides of Really's hull near the stern, it says Montgomery Costa Mesa, California.
