Dave, Thanks for the input. I'm not able to take a look at the unit now, but what I was thinking about cutting just the top part off (the part that is taller than the starboard berth) and having just that part slide back; then add hardware into the bottom part to make a seat. However, I have decided that since part of Griselda's beauty is that she was kept in such good condition without major modifications, I should just keep everything as is... just add a water tank and maybe a portable gas burner.
