Hey Smiley.... It's nice to see someone get one of my boats...! You're going to love sailing her this summer. Let me know if you need anything. I'am glad "Cat's Paw' is going to a new home on the East Coast. Consider, she's never been in Salt water..she should be almost as fresh and clean as the day she left my Boatshop..! Hi Bob and Smiley, Seeing all these congratulations going across my screen today, I'm really happy to see that Smiley is getting a fine boat and joining a great community here. Lynn and I did a one or two week tour with Cat's Paw at least once every year; for 2010 it was the Apostle Islands. Lake Superior was almost warm, so we tried snorkeling off the boat. Way cool, er, I mean fun. For eight summers, the M15 was the center of our recreation, and every sail was a joy, even if only an hour bobbing around on the bay. Bob, congratulations on finding a noble profession and doing it well. I only hope you pay yourself and your craftspeople enough to afford really good beer. Tell me about it, Gary, and why the preference for the topping lift? I've a topping lift now, and your opinion might save me $80. On 3/17/2011 9:16 PM, Gary M Hyde wrote:

John: Its been a while, but as I recall the kicker worked ok but took longer to rig & more storage space for trailering, whereas a topping lift is a simple length of rope that can stay attached to the mast & can be clipped to the boom outer end to make boom maneuvering in & out of the cabin easier. That's all for now. ~~~_/)~~~ Gary Sent from my iPhone :-) On Mar 17, 2011, at 5:20 PM, John Tyner <tynerjr@md.metrocast.net> wrote:

Random photos of Montgomeries are pretty rare. While browsing SailboatListings.com, I noticed one in the background of one of the photos in this listing http://www.sailboatlistings.com/view/21931 Location is New Bern, NC (has the construction finished downtown yet?). Joe, recognize this boat? John Tyner M-15 #412 "Chimpanzee"
I think the picture is on the Trent River neat the US 70 bridge. There is a M-17 about 3/4 of a mile up from the bridge. Owner hasn't used it for a couple of years. Has old registration tag on it. I talked to him and he got a larger cat boat. Mike M-15 Fionnula On 3/18/11, John Tyner <tynerjr@md.metrocast.net> wrote:

I don't recognize the boat but the picture is taken from the west end of the Sheraton Hotel and Marina (used to be the Hilton). It's located on the Trent River. We've been there twice for a Power Squadron rendevous. The hotel was nothing to write home about.
