We had a great trip to the Bahia de Los Angeles area of Baja California last October with our Montgomery 15. Although we'd sailed - and slept - in warm temperatures before, one uncomfortable part of the trip for me was lack of ventilation down by my feet in the bow of the boat at night. Maybe it was just not being used to the humidity, but my feet were dying for even a little bit of air! I figure I could improve ventilation with a fan circulating air in the cabin or with a vent through the deck near the bow. I wondered if anyone in this group has worked through this issue before. Ideas and suggestions appreciated! David Grah Bishop - California Montgomery 15 - Sky
I had an opening port installed in the front of the cabin on my M-15 several years ago. Provides flow through ventilation as well as sunlight into the cabin. I still see the ads for the ports in "Small Boat Advisor". The plant was located in Port Townsend on Puget Sound when I bought mine. Hi all, Still haven't seen a Monty 17 in person, in the water or on the hard. I'll be in Seattle this Saturday afternoon and all of Sunday, and down in Portland (Oregon that is :-) Monday night and Tuesday morning/mid-day. Just checking to see if anyone here has a Monty 17 I might get a look at on my way. Have gotten to see and even briefly sail a 15 but curious about the 17 in comparison. E-mail me or call 510-982-1334, I'll be heading south from Vancouver BC Saturday morning. thanks, John S. -- John Schinnerer - M.A., Whole Systems Design -------------------------------------------- - Eco-Living - Whole Systems Design Services People - Place - Learning - Integration john@eco-living.net - 510.982.1334 http://eco-living.net http://sociocracyconsulting.com
If you miss seeing an M-17 this trip, and can wait until July, I understand that Dave Scobie will have a new Sage 17 on display at Pocket Yacht Palooza in Port Townsend then.
