I have acquired a M17 and have some questions I hope someone can answer. Can you go aloft while in the water, is the boat stable enough? What is mast hight above water? What are the rails on the cockpit coaming for? Thanks, JDL
Welcome to the group! Try this link for factory specs http://www.norseayachts.com/<http://www.norseayachts.com/> I believe your mast to be 23ft in length. As for going aloft, If you sent up a mechanically inclined small child I think it would be ok, otherwise it would be quite a circus balancing act. the mast is of a manageable size so un-stepping an stepping are the best ways to get things done at the mast head. Hi, JDL (at work we have a "JDL" plotter)....A 17 is too small to go aloft without risking a capsize. However, if you wish to attempt it, we 17 owners have been wondering for a long time how the boat behaves under those circumstances and would be much obliged if you would have someone videotape this feat for posterity. :-) Handrails on the coamings sound like someone saw a Potter and thought they would add them.
