I think the hat is made in California, so if you go to Google and try "Supplex", you may find other sources of the hat.
Supplex is a Dupont proprietary nylon that has a more cotton-like feel. Searching under Supplex and hat will likely yield other manufacturer's models as well, as it is a widely used material. Scott

Good ol' Orvis has the hats too, at a price only Orvis would charge, $39. LL Bean has a white Solarweave nylon with a long backflap for full neck protection for $25, Item # VH45313 at http://www.llbean.com/fishing. A good deal is from Cabela's, they call 'em Guide or Shooting hats, several colors, for $14.95. Item # CD-90-1768 or CD-90-1710 at http://www.cabelas.com. The best innovation I've found is also at Cabelas, they're called Solar Focus sunglasses. They are fully polarized gray sunglasses with clear reading glass lenses at the bottom. I use 'em both for flyfishing to tie the little knots and on the boat for reading charts and any tiny print. 2.0 or 2.5 power available. They are the most useful practical gear I've used in a long time, at $23.95. Item # CD-71-0260. See 'em at http://www.cabelas.com/cabelas/en/templates/purchase/products-found.jhtml?_r equestid=48850 Doug
