The digest is one large email containing all of the postings for the day. You would have to cut and paste to include the original text with your reply. You can subscribe to both the digest and the individual posts for a while and see which you like. All of that stuff is set up as check box options on the list web site -- address at bottom of every list mail. Hope that helps. Quoting Wilsometer@aol.com:

Keith: Are there any drawbacks to the digest in lieu of individual messages? If I were to do this, could I still respond to the list/individuals regarding a thread or portion of the digest?
