HI Joe, I have my main halyard led aft via the blocks but have a cabin mounted small winch and a conventional cleat. I find the winch does help if you wish to tension the luff of the main and get the "scallops" removed. I also use the winch when stepping the mast running a safety line from the jib halyard through a block at the bow and aft to the winch/cleat. Perhaps you could mount a cam cleat and a conventional cleat as well? Happy Thanksgiving gang. Bones ____________________________________________________________ Make your dream home a reality. Hi Bones, Where did you mount your winch? (oh, does that question open some imagination) Joe ----- Original Message ----- From: <bownez@juno.com> To: <montgomery_boats@mailman.xmission.com> Sent: Wednesday, November 26, 2008 9:28 PM Subject: Re: M_Boats: cam cleats
