Spring is here (almost), and I'm thinking about a mainsail cover for Lynne L. Does anyone have any experience with the pre-patterned cover made and sold by sailboatowners.com? Do they fit well, what's the workmanship like, etc. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks, Rick M-17 #633
Rick, I bought a cover from Sailboatowners.com in 2010, when I also bought a new main from Elliot Pattison. The cover works just fine. It fits, and the workmanship is good. Thanks, Rich, that helps. They seem to be the only place that has a pre-patterned cover. Looks like I'll go ahead with it. Rick M-17 #633 Lynne L On Tue, Mar 12, 2013 at 8:45 AM, Rich Makela <richmak@makelaperformance.com>wrote:

I had Ellen Wylde, the owner & operator of "The Artful Dodger" in Hood River, Oregon make the mainsail cover for my M-15. I have not yet mastered the techy trick needed to post a photo to M-Boats, but if you're interested, contact me by direct e-mail and I will forward a photo. I make my own from scratch (Sailrite prices are outrageous) so I can't say for the pre-patterned ones. You can always measure your boat and ask their dimensions to see if it will fit yours properly. There are other considerations here...do you want a zipper, twist turns, bungee cord and/or ties? My personal choice is twist turn fasteners instead of a zipper, tie straps/cords at the ends and twist turns along the bottom. bp -----Original Message----- From: Rick Davies <jdavies104@gmail.com> To: M BoatsForum <montgomery_boats@mailman.xmission.com> Sent: Tue, Mar 12, 2013 7:30 am Subject: M_Boats: Mainsail cover Spring is here (almost), and I'm thinking about a mainsail cover for Lynne L. I got mine from them and it fits fine. Looks fine after 4 years. I don't think you can beat the price for off the shelf. Rick We bought the Sailrite kit and it was easy to cut and sew. Don't remember the cost but was reasonable. Was easy for me, Dorothy did everything but the twistlockes witch close the bottom edges.
