Re: M_Boats: More about the 4-stroke
My small motor expert gave me a tip (he works on Mowers, chain saws and all manner of thing) Just put a few drops of Auto Transmission oil in the gas tank before putting the motor or small motor tool away for the winter.<<
Interesting thought..guess it'll work for 2 cycle engines and add a bit more protection to them. I bought a fogging spray to winterize the Evinrude that came with Stargazer. I don't do much to winterize my Seagulls, since I use synthetic oil in the gas, and run them at least monthly. I've never had any starting problems with my 'Gulls in the 7 years that I've had them. No "right way" to store them, just empty the gas tank before putting them in the car...a good idea for any engine. They're noisy and smoky, even with the 25-1 mix, altho the 50-1 mix for the 3hp isn't too bad. I've got a "new" Kingfisher 5hp to replace the old EFNRL-90. Still takes 25-1 mix, but it runs quieter.
