Skip, Before you sand, you might try going to your local West Marine or chandlery and purchase a bottle of "On and Off" by the Mary Kate company. It is a very strong bottom cleaner. It wont hurt the fiberglass.Don't get it on your trailer paint, though. I use rubber gloves and a diaper rag. I pour some of the stuff onto the rag and wipe it on the boat. So far I haven't seen any bottom grunge that it won't wipe off. Immediately follow the wipe with a hose off. If it works like I think it will it'll be a lot easier than sanding. Hope that helps. I think I've used regular boat detergent mixed with Oxi-Clean.....which is a mild acid with bleach.....hot water and a scrub brush and sponge. Howard On May 7, 2007, at 11:00 AM, Nebwest2@aol.com wrote:

Mary Kate... Mary Kate... man, that sounds familiar... you know, think my ex-wife is a Mary Kate distributor... i thought all they sold was cosmetics and women's stuff but now that i think about it she had a whole bunch of stuff that scrubbed crud off when applied according to the directions. I'll give her a call and see if she has anything for boats (the other important "women" in our lives). Note: The above was a feeble attempt at humor Nebwest2@aol.com wrote: Skip, Before you sand, you might try going to your local West Marine or chandlery and purchase a bottle of "On and Off" by the Mary Kate company.
