Hi all - I know that others have asked the question, but I can’t find the response in my email. Who is a recommended sail maker for the Montgomery 17? I’ve ordered in the past from Hyde Sails, through Judy B, but she seems to be on sabbatical at the moment, as she doesn’t answer her email. My local sail maker (Banks Sails in Kemah, TX) is swamped, and can’t get sail cloth, so I need to try somewhere else. There are lots of outfits online, but would like to go with someone tried and true. I’m looking for a 135% genoa to accompany my current working jib. Should run me around $700 - 800. Thanks, Ed
Hi: I got super sails for my M15 from Elliott-Patterson sails in Colorado. They are great. My 2-cents Ed - First is unless you sail in conditions 12 knot conditions all the time you want a 150%. As you already have a 110% IMO the 150 is the better compliment (and having a main with two reefs). Harry at EPsails.com is excellent (he is now located in Colorado). Yager in Spokane is also very good but more expensive that Harry. :: Dave Scobie :: M6'8" #650 :: SV SWALLOW - sv-swallow.com :: former owner M17 #375 SWEET PEA - m17-375.com :: former owner M15 #288 SCRED - m15namedscred.wordpress.com <<-- new site!
