I know this has been discussed before but I can't seem to find the references. Where is the best place to mount an interior "shoot thru the hull" depth sounder transducer on an older M17? Pictures and/or measurements would be appreciated. Thanks! -- Henry https://picasaweb.google.com/heinzir
On center, in front of the keel (under the fwd berth). I did that once and it worked fine. -----Original Message----- From: Henry Rodriguez Sent: Thursday, April 06, 2017 9:43 AM To: montgomery_boats@mailman.xmission.com Subject: M_Boats: transducer location I know this has been discussed before but I can't seem to find the references. Henry, I put mine about 12" off the keel line and just forward of the cb housing. That way it is protected yet gives you some warning before you run your keel up onto an obstruction. I used a thru hull to get supposedly a clearer representation of the bottom but I should have used a thru hull like you are doing. Hi Henry, On my '88 M17 there is a cavity at the aft end of the keel trunk. I placed my depth sounder transducer there and submerged it in a few inches of water. Works well. On Thu, Apr 6, 2017 at 9:43 AM, Henry Rodriguez <heinzir@gmail.com> wrote:
