Garmin offers a training DVD for $25 ($20 from Tropic Aero) that's well worth the money. Just got the unit yesterday and am looking forward to learning how to use it, then flying and sailing with it. I could use a schooling... When using a chart plotter in the air, do routes show as they do on the Blue Chart screen? Must be interesting to see the curser (plane) go along as you travel. Bill
Bill, I haven't flown with it yet, but I have used it in the simulator mode. There are any number of combinations of presentations. My favorite one is a split screen with data on one side (bearing to next waypoint, ground speed, ETA, etc) and with a moving map on the other side showing terrain, track, obstacles, etc. I used to fly on B-36's and this gadget will do more in an instant that all three navigators could do during the whole flight. Amazing. Clarence ----- Original Message ----- From: <BILLAMICASR@aol.com> To: <montgomery_boats@mailman.xmission.com> Sent: Friday, January 14, 2005 6:05 PM Subject: Re: M_Boats: HELP!
