I am the happy owner of a new 85% jib and a new storm jib from Elliot Pattison Sailmakers and want to get some line for sheets for these new sails. My existing jib sheets are 7/16 or 1/2 inch diameter and it has been suggested that is a little big for the boat. 5/16 or 3/8 inch diameter line has been suggested. I live out in the middle of nowhere with not other boats to look at and no other line to grab to see how it feels. What line size does the group suggest for jib sheets for my boat? Any particular source or product suggested in addition? Thanks! David Grah Bishop California Montgomery 15 serial 369 "Sky"

David: consider 1/4". more than strong enough. only drawback is it may cut into your hands more than 5/16". yeah, 1/2 is WAY big ... the sheets on my folk's 32' Cheoy Lee were 1/2". :: Dave Scobie -------------------------------------------- On Wed, 4/2/14, jerry montgomery <jerry@jerrymontgomery.org> wrote: 5/16, double braided dacron. jerry ----- Original Message ----- From: "David Grah" <d_b_grah@yahoo.com> Sent: Wednesday, April 02, 2014 6:07 PM I am the happy owner of a new 85% jib and a new storm jib from Elliot Pattison Sailmakers and want to get some line for sheets for these new sails.
