M-17 folks? This spring we fitting our M-17 "Little Breeze" with a furling headsail that works really great with one exception....really stiff wind like 20 knots plus trying to punch to windward. On our previous sailboats (25 ft and 32ft) we would fly our storm jib but with the furling headsail on the Monty there is no forestay to hank to. What have other M-17 owners done....aside from using the iron spinaker which is what we did this summer on a couple of occasions.? Arnold Sharpe, M-17 #265, " Little Breeze"
Recently I saw a storm sail that fit like a sleeve over the furled headsail. I would have seen it in one of four sources: Cruising World; This Old Boat; Practical Sailor; or Lats/Atts. Does this ring a bell to anyone. I'm always on the lookout for recipes that don't require refrigeration. I know this has been a threaded discussion on and off so I thought I'd pass this on. I saw some interesting recipes in Lats&Atts Dec 2009 (p123) using canned chicken. The article is by a Sally Ecklund who has a book out called "Tin Can Magic". Anyone read it?? Joe Seafrog M17
Joe, Here is another that seems even simpler, with a video clip to boot. One might even substitute loops of parrel beads for the hanks, but I think a "sock" over the furled sail would be easier on the latter. http://www.atninc.com/gale.html On Dec 4, 2009, at 8:31 AM, Joe Murphy wrote:

My furler works fine even in winds to 35 mph. I just furl down to expose maybe a trash bag size of sail. ⎈--Gary ☺ On Dec 1, 2009, at 6:08 PM, Arnold Sharpe wrote:
