If any of you semi locals want to get together for a day's tuning session for the sake of going faster in the CC, i'd volunteer to meet you at Folsom or any other reasonable location. I like to see you guys going fast! jerry
Gee, Jerry; If I brought Griselda, my fin keel M17, (#14) do you think we could tune the rig and beat the "doggie Doo" out of the whole bunch. She has a virtually new full batten main by Bartlett in Austin and a set of 4 headsails from a 150 to a #3 storm jib. Also a spinnaker, vang and split backstay adjuster. The botton and keel has fresh barrier coat and ablative paint. In the past, she was always faster and more weatherly than the keel/CB montys we came up against. Maybe the for sale sign would not slow her down too much. Whitebeard

Jerry, count me in. I will be at the bottom in seamanship and speed. I can't even cook so I will have lots to observe and correct on my little rig. Jerry, paint question: Do you know the correct (permanent) coating to match the original non-skid color and mat finish on the decks of the M-15 from the 1980s? I have some places where I placed cheek blocks in epoxy and they are shiny. Any ideas? I met you at Folsom a few years ago. You had your Hawaiian racing canoe looking for launching spot. We were at Beal's Point, not Brown's Ravine. ---Fair winds. ---Larry Hughston in M-15 #189 -----Original Message----- From: montgomery_boats-bounces@mailman.xmission.com [mailto:montgomery_boats-bounces@mailman.xmission.com] On Behalf Of Ronnie Keeler Sent: Sunday, June 27, 2010 6:19 PM To: Montgomery boats mailing list Subject: Re: M_Boats: Cruiser challange Gee, Jerry; If I brought Griselda, my fin keel M17, (#14) do you think we could tune the rig and beat the "doggie Doo" out of the whole bunch.
