May I tap the wisdom of the group? On my new-to-me M17, I am replacing the ancient, crumbling teak pads under the bow red-and-green light and the stern white light. I'm not sure what substance to put between the deck and the bottom surface of the pads. I was thinking I'd use marine silicone, based on the 3M site's recommendations. But the discussion of butyl tape seemed to suggest that's not the best idea. I welcome informed opinions. Thanks! Dan Richman Shoreline, Wash. M17 #302--"Orli"
Don: Here's a link to a Don Casey quick tip on sealant choice. I'm sure other folks have lots of different opinions. http://www.boatus.com/boattech/QuickTip45.htm Gordon On Jan 8, 2009, at 4:15 PM, Dan Richman wrote:
