Re: M_Boats: M15 Masthead lights
In this discussion about lights, I haven't seen any mention about power consumption. I've read a little about the new LED lights coming on the market and they look like they would be worth considering, assuming the price isn't out of reason. For an extended cruise, maintaining battery charge could be critical without a way of recharging. I need to install the entire electrical system on my M17 and I hope to find a way of doing it without being dependent on frequent recharging. Larry Yake M17, #200 Tullamore

Larry Yake M17, #200 Tullamore, LARRY, YOU HAVE TO REALIZE THAT THOSE LED LIGHTS WILL NOT BE BRIGHT ENOUGH TO BE 'LEGALLY' USED FOR NAVIGATION. AT LEAST NOT YET, YOU'LL HAVE TO SUPPLEMENT YOUR BATTERY SHORESIDE AND W/ A SOLAR PANEL. I TOO HAVE'NT INSTALLED ELECTRIC ON WHOA NELLIE!, MOSTLY DUE TO TIME CONSTRAINTS THAT CAME ABOUT FOR ME. NAV' LIGHTS ARE ONLY GOOD IF PEOPLE CAN SEE THEM! BE SAFE, NOT SORRY! WE'LL ALL BRAINSTORM THIS OUT THIS WINTER.................UH, EXCEPT ME, I'LL BE WORKING IN NEWFOUNDLAND, UNABLE TO PARTICIPATE. CIAO! EUGENE M17 #354 WHOA NELLIE!
