I can't imagine adding hundreds of gallons of fuel to my hobby
It must be tough for people who bought their boats when fuel was $1.xx/gallon. I didn't really understand how tough until I was talking to the owner of a Carver 36 last weekend, a few slips away from Dolphin, who told me that he plans on 20gal/hour. Ouch! My 20gal diesel tank was last topped up more than a year ago One of the things that I enjoy about the marina where I stable Dolphin is the (more or less) 50/50 power/sail mix. I've even enjoyed being aboard a friend's trawler-style boat. It might just be the rather unusual August weather this year (we actually have wind!) but I noticed far fewer power boats out on the Chesapeake Bay yesterday. Giles Morris
