Re: M_Boats: AOL is almost over
I hear ya Bill. I'm getting ready to ditch AOL, too. Sick of it. Love and light, Jen In a message dated 6/6/2006 4:53:51 P.M. Hawaiian Standard Time, billamicasr@gmail.com writes: Hi All, I put up with the drops from E-mail service (MSOG & Trailer Sailor) as well as file corruption (photos that were unreadable, corrupt or shrunk) long enough. I know there were some of you who said I ought to ditch AOL along time ago... And, I have seen the light. It took a while... I've been with AOL since 1998 and that means all of my contacts know to reach me that way. To include Personal. Business, County, State, Federal and International (just kidding) Anyway, I think I've informed everyone and have changed all of my passwords and such so that gmail.com is now my preferred account. Funny too. When I began the search I registered Billamicasr at MSN and Gmail and both were available. So I now have lots of Email accounts; However I do prefer Gmail. A note about Gmail; It is a pain in the butt to learn and better than the rest. If you are having trouble with the learning curve, let me know... I've become somewhat of a Gmail expert (so to speak). Anyway, delete the aol.com and instead use gmail.com after my address. AOL is done at the end of the month. Hi, folks. Glenn the Newbie here. Been looking for a sailboat after a long hiatus, and found searching the web to be a mixed bag of results. MSOG was helpful. Not to be presumptuous, I have a suggestion for MSOG. (No, it's not a solicitation.) Rather than repeat it here, go to this link to read it. Or if this listserv doesn't like doing links that way, cut and paste the following address into your browser address bar: http://msogblog.typepad.com/ Glenn, near future M-15
Hi Glen, I'll try not to to rain on your parade, while shedding light... First, allow me to say, you've done an excellent write up. I cannot wait for you to get your new M15 (if Bob Eeg ever contacts you - more on that later) I'll do a great job of incorporating your thoughts on boat decisions and buying and if you can take some great photos at least 1024 X 768 or larger I'll use up a page or two for your new M15. About Montgomery Boats: In defense of Bob Eeg, owner, I'll give you this unsolicited opinion (and I've never actually met him) 1. He's busy doing production, production management, sales, ordering, Internet work and a bunch of other things. 2. Bob is better suited to making certain the boats he delivers are top shelf, than to "waste" his time trying to learn how to use the Internet to his advantage (after all, he is constantly back ordered at least five boats. 3. Bob's web site lacks quite alot. Bob and possibly I will eventually do something about that. Probably this winter. He's busy building boats at the moment. I do plan on selling him my webmaster services... I hope. 4. Our Email forum is handled at no cost by Keith Diehl (one of the people on the list) sometimes the E-mail program deletes it's users (happened to me) and I would guess Bob Eeg hasn't even read your post and likely will not. With all of that being said; Truly, Bob and crew are busy building the best little cruisers available. If you really want one the only way to get one is call him. I will add the phone number at the bottom of this note. About the M15: I used to have an M17, great craft. certainly sails better than I do. I've sailed a couple M15 and have but one boat to compare it to; the Potter P15. The Potter can slide up on a beach and that is the only advantage I can see. The rest of the qualities concerning sail-ability, quality, resale, etc... are owned by the M15. If you would like to know more about the M15, it would be good to visit two sites, that you may have already found: www.MSOG.org <http://www.msog.org/> and my site www.MSOGPhotoSite.com<http://www.msogphotosite.com/> If you've got specific questions, please do not hesitate to E-mail me "off list" and I'll do all I can to answer your questions. And, if you are a buyer, give Bob a call at ** *(949) 489-8227* That number is his cell phone. I know he will gladly answer all or any Montgomery questions. Nice blog site. Congratulations on a well thought out decision on the M15. Bill www.MSOGPhotoSite.com
