1977 M17 #232 - For Sale in San Diego
I bought this boat about 3 years ago from Bob Eeg. Bob acquired it from the previous (I believe original) owner who's health decline triggered his selling it. Bob gave this boat a good work over, performed needed maintenance, replaced parts, etc. This has been a great boat for us and we absolutely love it. After sailing it for 3 years we have opted to put a boat on a mooring year round. And because we still have our first sailboat, a trailerable Lido 14, we are selling the M17. I put a for sale sign on the boat this summer, and posted it online with an asking price of $6,300. Several interested persons contacted me, some came by to take a look, but no buyer yet. I spent most of the summer sailing the other boat, playing, hosting out of town guests, pretty much everything but worrying about selling the boat. I figure the right person will come along at the right time, and then it will have a happy new home. I started receiving this listserve even before I bought my M17. I saw an M15 launch here in San Diego the summer before, immediately fell in love, then found this listserve. After reading the passionate dialogue from Montgomery owners I knew I was onto something good, so I bought the M17 from Bob the following year. The emails from this listserve hit a folder in my inbox then I go through a bunch all at once. I read most all of them, and pick up a lot of good tips from you all. Since I did not sail this boat this summer, I got behind on reading the emails. Boy was I surprised today to read the recent thread about Montogomery boats initiated by freewilly. As a Montgomery loyalist of course I agree with the concensus how great these boats are. If you are interested in becoming the next owner of this fine boat please contact me. Until then I will remain a faithful steward of this one. Of course, price is negotiable. If you want to own this boat we will come to agreement. I want this boat to have an owner who will sail her and enjoy her. This is a great boat and I look forward to handing her off to the next owner. Chris Good M17 #232, 1977 Chica Buena
