Can anyone help Marianne? ----- Forwarded message from Marianne Scott <mariannescott@scottpoint.ca> ----- Date: Mon, 19 Jan 2004 16:14:13 -0700 From: Marianne Scott <mariannescott@scottpoint.ca> Reply-To: Marianne Scott <mariannescott@scottpoint.ca> Subject: Lyle Hess To: Keith Diehl <kdiehl@xmission.com> I'm writing a long profile on Lyle Hess for Good Old Boat magazine. I'd like to obtain some pictures of Montgomery boats and anecdotes about Lyle Hess from people who knew him personally. I noticed your website. Might you or others in the group have photos to illustrate the article? For the photos to be usable, they can be electronic but must have a format of 300 dpi and not exceed 5 megabytes each (my server doesn't like bigger ones). Any help you can give me will be much appreciated. I'd love to include photos of all the boats Hess designed. I have collected some good Hess boat pics, and I've contacted Marianne to offer help. Hers sounds like a wonderful project. I trust Jerry and Bob can contribute personal info . . . ----- Original Message ----- From: <kdiehl@xmission.com> To: <montgomery_boats@mailman.xmission.com> Cc: <mariannescott@scottpoint.ca> Sent: Tuesday, January 20, 2004 4:35 PM Subject: Lyle Hess Can anyone help Marianne? ----- Forwarded message from Marianne Scott <mariannescott@scottpoint.ca>----- Date: Mon, 19 Jan 2004 16:14:13 -0700 From: Marianne Scott <mariannescott@scottpoint.ca> Reply-To: Marianne Scott <mariannescott@scottpoint.ca> Subject: Lyle Hess To: Keith Diehl <kdiehl@xmission.com> I'm writing a long profile on Lyle Hess for Good Old Boat magazine. I think we could all come up with nice pictures of our boats, but with limited space available, I'd hope that whatever picture they use has Jerry M. himself at the helm. Might as well get both legends with one shot! Howard On 1/20/04 3:35 PM, "kdiehl@xmission.com" <kdiehl@xmission.com> wrote:

Excellent point, Howard. I have pics of the Itchen Ferry, the Bristol Channel Cutter, the Fatty Knees dingy, etc. I didn't think Marianne would be interested in my boat . . . But Jerry and Bob might have pics of Lyle at the helm of one of his masterpieces . . . --Craig ----- Original Message ----- From: "Howard Audsley" <haudsley@tranquility.net> To: "For and about Montgomery Sailboats" <montgomery_boats@mailman.xmission.com> Sent: Wednesday, January 21, 2004 6:59 PM Subject: Lyle Hess I think we could all come up with nice pictures of our boats, but with limited space available, I'd hope that whatever picture they use has Jerry M. himself at the helm.
