Hi Folks: A question for Jerry, or perhaps others who have done a deadlight replacement... Jerry, who was your supplier for M17 deadlights? My plexi needs replacing pretty badly. I've got the frame out, but I either need to find some new gasketing material from the manufacturer, or buy a new pair of replacement deadlights. I'd rather buy the gasket, if it can be done. Has anyone else tried this? Thanks, BG Brian Gilbert Author, Fix It And Sail, The Complete Trailer Sailer On Apr 10, 2009, at 11:34 PM, montgomery_boats-request@mailman.xmission.com wrote:

Brian: I came to the same conclusion. Replace the gasket material........but I couldn't find any gasket to match. So here is what I did...... http://montgomeryowners.com/forums/index.php?article=45.0 If you have heartburn over using silicone rubber (with good reason) as your sealant, you could try polysulfide. At worst, it will eat your windows and you would have to replace them. I'm about 5 years into this experiment and so far, the silicone hasn't leaked.
