I don't know, Rick
With the boat traveling at about 25 kts toward you, at 300 yds off you'd only have a bit over 20 seconds. Probably not enough time to even get to the engine and get it started (remember, the anchored boat wasn't real small either).

Hi Tod,
Thanks for that link. What a horrifying event. The article wasn't very specific as to the details of the collision. Neither boat sank so it sounds like a glancing blow. The fishing boat captain knew he was in trouble seeing the cruiser at 300 yards. Besides trying to hail the cruiser what else did he do? I wonder if he ever tried to move the fishing boat. Even if at anchor, it seems he could have powered forward to avoid the collision. Maybe he could have put out more rode or let it go.
What would you do?

Tom:
My bilge pump is located in the side of the footwell in the cockpit, but on the aft side near the motor cutout. I don't think it was a factory installation, but it could have been... hard to tell. At any rate I need to drill out the pop rivets, add new compound, and reseal with bolts.
Thanks BG

While cruising through Colonial Beach, VA, Sunday, 7/10, in my new tow vehicle (2002 GMC Sierra, 4.8 V-8, think this will be adequate for an M-15?), encountered a Montgomery? (15, I believe, but not sure) at the town's public launch. "Gypsy Rose" had Florida registration and FL tags on the trailer. Owner wasn't in sight, so I jumped out to look at the hull number. That just confused things, as this hull number started with digits, not letters, and then ended with letters, so I assume it's a rather old boat in an old system. No paper and pen, and all I remember of the HIN is "383xx-xx71RMM". Anyone have any ideas? Boat also had the extruded aluminum toe-rail, did not have an outboard cut-out like older 17s, and, of course, a Montgomery's lapstrake hull. Did not examine further as I don't like to mess around other people's stuff.

Everyone, I am trying to find the best way to mount a transom ladder on my M-15. It will go on the the starboard side of course but how do get to the inside to create proper support with plate aluminum or high quality plywood that is covered with epoxy and glasscloth? Is this a factory install only? Thanks all. ----Larry
