I installed trailer guides, post type with PVC pipe over them on my trailer because I had the same problem lining up the boat on the trailer. I also had another problem which this helped fix. Once the boat was off the trailer, I could no longer see the trailer when I was backing it down the ramp. I had installed a toneau cover over the pick up bed and that added to the problem of obliterating the trailer from view. With the trailer guides it helped eliminate both problems.
