John, This subject comes up periodically but I do not know of anyone who has found a better solution for the M-15. Here is a PDF document of various rigging arrangements used on DaySailers to allow adjustment of the transom rope "horse". http://daysailer.org/pdf/qtr_TravelerSystemsV38_1.pdf Some other boats have a transom mounted traveler bar, which resembles a big towel bar, with a captive ring that secures the main sheet block. This seems to be popular with traditional cat boats. In some cases there are traveler lines so the ring may be pulled port or starboard along the bar as needed. The Rhodes 22 uses a similar captive ring on a tube that forms part of the stern pulpit. A P-19 owner mounted a traveler track with car on his stern pulpit. One of the Boston Whaler models used a stern mounted track. The transom was made with a notch to allow the tiller to pass beneath the track and above the transom notch. Of course, you would have to modify the kick-up rudder arrangement of a M-15 to do this. There are pluses and minuses for all of these arrangements. I am sure someday one of us will come up with something clever that will improve the situation. steve Steve R. M-15 #119 Lexington, KY
