Greetings I'm John Roland and I've just bought a M-15. Hoping to meet other Montgomery owners and learn more about these great little boats. I found my boat on the MSOG website, offered by Bo Swartwout in Hyannis, MA. The boat was previously owned by a couple of peope in Texas and was named Lil Bit. I'm renaming it Wokini ( a Lakota word meaning new life or new beginning). If anyone knows something of the history of this boat I'd like to hear it. I live in Manassas VA (near Washington DC) and will be sailing in the Potomac River and in the Chesapeaake Bay area. John
Hi John, good to see see another land locked Virginian with an M-15. I am in Leesburg and picked up my 1981 M-15 earlier this summer in MD. I sail out of Breezy Point MD with my kids near Chesapeake Beach where the boat is kept on its trailer. I am sure you already know this but Sandy Point State Park has a fabulous facility for launching and Breezy Point where I am has a good ramp too that is available for a $8 launch fee. I have not been on the Potomac except kayaking (M-15's dont like class 3 rapids). Hope to see you out on the Bay and at the boat show! Welcome, John, Maybe I'll spy your boat in the Potomac some time on my way across the WW Bridge! When I get the time to sail (very infrequently :-( ) I sail out of Breton Bay in Leonardtown MD, so advise if you'll be down in the lower Potomac any time. And, since it can be confusing with so many John's on the list, I've added my middle name in my sig to make it more so! :-) -- John Rowland Tyner M-15 #412 "Chimpanzee" -----Original Message----- From: montgomery_boats-bounces+tynerjr=gmpexpress.net@mailman.xmission.com [mailto:montgomery_boats-bounces+tynerjr=gmpexpress.net@mailman.xmission .com]On Behalf Of JRo6238104@aol.com Sent: Friday, September 23, 2005 12:08 AM To: montgomery_boats@mailman.xmission.com Subject: M_Boats: New Guy Greetings I'm John Roland and I've just bought a M-15.
