Greetings wrinkle boaters! Out of curiosity of my ballast type, I took a magnet to the hull of my M-15 (#411). The magnet did not stick to the keel, but it did stick to the hull from just forward of the keel to almost all the way to the bow. My boat has the hump in the floor in the forward locker. Does this mean I've got a lead keel and steel punchings in the hull? Charlie -- Charlie Fortner M-15 #411 Earth, USA, GA, Atlanta
What year listed on the HIN (last three digits)? Based on hull number alone my guess is lead in your boat. :: Dave Scobie On Jun 3, 2017 10:28 AM, "Charlie Fortner" <charlie@rentrof.net> wrote:

The last three numbers of my HIN are 888. So that's 1988? There is definitely a hump in the forward locker and a magnet sticks to it. Taking the magnet along the outside of the hull, the magnetic attraction ends forward of the keel, just about where the head is. The magnet won't stick to the keel. I appreciate any information or speculation on mixed ballast types. Charlie -- M-15 #411 On Sat, Jun 3, 2017, at 13:04, Dave Scobie wrote:
