Advice for stained jib
I need some advice. My mail looks really good but the jib is stained. I didn't think nylon would stain so readily. If it will and the fabric is good, can I stain the fabric rather than purchase new sails? I don't think I can make it worse than it is. I would just like to defer the cost of a new set until maybe next year. Or is there something that will absolutely clean them to almost new color? I'm willing to try just about anything. Kendall: Try Sailcare http://www.sailcare.com/ for cleaning. I haven't had to use them myself as my M17 is fairly new but I have heard of others that were happy with the results. Good luck... I had Sailcare do my big Nor'Sea 27 sails, and they came out like new. However, there were no rust stains and the like, so an enquiry to the company would be in order. Their response will be interesting to all of us, I suspect.
