Hi John, I had the lower dropboard of my 3 piece system made from Starboard as there always seemed to be a small bit of water at the lower edge of the bridgedeck on my M23. It would try to stain and rot the lower lip of the original veneer teak board. Worked great. The M17 does not have that bridgedeck. I did make new dropboards for mine years ago, using teak veneer plywood. I kept and use the old boards when the boat is in winter storage. I'm sure the price of materials has increased measurably.
