RE: M_Boats: Yamaha 2.5HP on M15 w/fixed mount?
Tilting the Honda up on the fixed mount is like doing a rubics cube (can't tell you about any motor besides the Honda 2 4-stroke). I clamp the motor on inboard of center. When I want to tilt it up, I turn it backwards and bring it up. It's still close, and sometimes locks itself, and sometimes I have to reach down to engage the lock manually. I then turn the motor sideways so a.) it's oriented as it would be if it was sitting on the ground--little rubber knobs down and b.)because it gives you a bit more clearance prop to water. To put it down, reverse the procedure--the power head has to be backwards to unlock. As you lower it, turn it sideways again because otherwise shaft doesn't seat properly. I recommend you do this procedure in your driveway first. It's not hard, just a little awkward. Good luck. t Tom Smith and Jane Van Winkle M15--345 Chukar M17--064 Unnamed
