jason: i'm sending this to the MSOG list jason in hopes you will get the information. i attempted to send you email direct. your returned address gets retuned as invalid. i measured SCRED's mast and the measurement is 19' 2". the E/P sail is the same height (within an inch or so) as the older, as far as i know, 1984 mckibben sail. now ... at some time someone set the gooseneck on SCRED to be at a height so that it easy cleared one's head. the result was the sail was bunched at the foot (i just made it work by using a cunningham to correct, overall, the sail shape). for the footless E/P sail i've lowered the boom by about a foot so the sail correctly sets. result ... watch you head a bit more closely during a tack. dave scobie M17 #375 - sweet pea (http://www.m17-375.webs.com) M15 #288 - SCRED (FOR SALE, http://www.freewebs.com/m15-name-scred) --- On Thu, 4/30/09, Jason A. I’m curious about the new main for your M15 – it looks like an EP sail correct? Well, I would like to buy a new main myself from EP but have run into a rigging issue. Seems the older M15s have a shorter mast than the newer Norsea boats. The luff on the EP main is suited for the new boats as he is the OEM supplier. I’m curious if you bought a “stock” EP main, and how it fits. My 1988 M-15 #411 has a mast extrusion that is exactly 19’ long (19’2” to the top of the masthead fitting). I just thought I would check with you first. I don’t want the luff too long and the boom bonking my head J You thoughts would be welcome. Best regards, Jason Smith Hood River, OR
