Sorry to all for the previous post. I was trying to cut and hit send in error. Steve, I haven't cut any holes up there and I don't see any evidence that anyone else has either. I'm sure the smell is polyester resin, but not that clear on why, after 22 years it can still be smelt. When I got the boat (4 years ago) the forward locker was screwed down, so maybe it was never opened in 18 years. I have noticed the smell has decrease a little, but I don't open that locker all that much either. That locker was never painted. Maybe the smell would go away if it were painted. Now that I think of it, Frank Durant's new M15 didn't have a painted forward locker either. I think it smelled of polyester, but after all it was a new boat. Rick

Rick there is something wrong if you smell a strong resin odor. I have smelled it in my boat when I sawed or drilled a opening, but when I coated the edges with epoxy for waterproofing that took care of the odor. Have you or a PO possibly cut a hole somewhere and not sealed it?
