More like 'pipe off' - he da 'hoser'! Found this set of numbers- _http://www.nccn.net/~gcyc/_ (http://www.nccn.net/~gcyc/) - have seen others.(olditis at the moment) I have competed without a PHRF certificate and had numbers assigned from 300 - 306 I believe. 104 looks correct for D-PN # and 294 looks correct for PHRF (including the use of Spinn - hence the 300# for nonspinn), caveat here is these are LOCAL ratings based on local conditions and performances. Thank Goodness I haven't won a race lately! I should be 294 (non spinn) it appears. Maybe lower for being a smartas*! GaryO - hardly racing since they went to W/L courses exclusively, windward gates and radio start countdowns. Not enuf fun fer me! M-17 # 316a TaLL rig LB/GF! In a message dated 9/9/2008 12:41:54 P.M. Does anyone know the Portsmouth yardstick handicap numbers for an M-17.? I looked it up on the web but no info on how to do it.? Just the formulas with very little explanation.
We had a great time racing. My wife says she feels twenty again. We got better and better as the weekend went along and the last race we were respectable.? Had a little adventure Sunday morning as the starboard outer shroud pin came out as we were setting the jib.? Wife brought us into the wind , I dropped all the sails she got the outboard down and started.? And as luck would have it I found the pin against the toe rail.? I got a new safety ring and repined the shroud and we were "just a bit" late starting the first race.? The last race of the weekend we were in great shape and misjudged the last buoy and touched it so had to make a penalty 360 and finished well back.? Everyone said we were doing great for our first race with so little previous sailing experience.? So put the boat on the trailer had a burger and beer at the Pub and home tired with big smiles all around.
