Yes he did (he still makes a pretty fast surf ski, I believe). We have one of his tandems, and a fast solo (both Kevlar), and a glass solo he designed for rivers. All excellent boats. Matter of fact, if I had to get rid of every boat I own, and could only keep one, the Kevlar solo is the boat I'd keep.
