Hi Joe, My fixed VHF mounts vertically into a "U" type bracket on the port inside bulkhead above the galley sink. However, I know you do not have a galley model M17, so unless the VHF was quite small, this could present a head obstruction for a person sitting in that berth. The mic cord is long enough so I can talk while standing in the cockpit. Have you purchased a model?
