When I bought my boat the battery was located next to the V birth bulkhead even with the aft end of the porta potty. Is that the stock location? More forward and on the centerline would appear more appropriate. Where's yours? Earl landers
Earl: My 1977 M-17 has the battery where you describe. With the outboard, battery and lazarette all on the port side, I expected the boat to list to port, but if it does, it isn't noticeable. I've quit worrying about it. Hi Earl, Port side, forward of the V berth bulkhead.I believe that is the standard battery location. Works okay there. Shorter cable run to the panel, and accessible without having to get up on the berth if it was farther forward.
