Fellow sailors: The following web site shows a simple way to stow anchor rode and chain using a mesh bag. The bag is a 19 x 23" mesh "dunk bag" available where camping supplies are sold. It will hold way more than 150 feet of 3/8" line. Put mesh bag in bucket, and, leaving bitter end out, drop rode in from bitter end to anchor. Close bag, remove bucket, tie bitter end to bow cleat, tie bag to better end, and leave bagged rode on foredeck ready to deploy. Here's the site: http://web.mac.com/gmhyde1/iWeb/Site/Anchor%20Rode%20stowing.html --Gary Hyde Pullman, WA gmhyde1@mac.com M17 sailboat #637 'Hydeaway 2' We can't change the wind, but we can trim our sails.
